Get ready for a powerhouse performance from former champion bodybuilder-turned-action star Daniel Stisen in Stand Your Ground, the latest high-octane thriller from Swedish director Fansu Njie. The film muscles its way into U.S. theaters on May 9, followed by a VOD release on May 27.
Joining Stisen are veteran stars Peter Stormare and Eric Roberts, promising a gritty, revenge-fueled showdown.
Stisen stars as Jack Johnson, a former Special Forces operative whose world is shattered after a brutal racist attack – led by crime boss Bastion (Stormare) – leaves his pregnant wife dead. In a moment of rage, Jack kills one of the attackers and lands in prison for six years. Upon release, he learns the men responsible were Bastion’s sons.
What follows is a deadly game of retribution. Jack uses the “Stand Your Ground” law to his advantage, luring Bastion’s eldest son into a trap. But the fallout is brutal: Bastion sends wave after wave of killers after Jack. As Jack makes a final stand in his fortified home, Bastion’s daughter—also the town sheriff—must decide where her loyalties lie.
