We have another Indie Trailer to share with you. Swing Bouts is set against the backdrop of Irish boxing.

Swing Bouts stars Ciara Berkeley, Chrissie Cronin, Sinead O’Riordan, Ben Condron, Frank Prendergast, Jonny Elliot and Megan Maly. Maurice O’Carroll is the writer and director.

The story is:

Set backstage at a major boxing event, a young boxer is plunged into a tumultuous journey from the dressing room to her ring walk in a night of deceit, betrayal, and life-altering decisions.

You can’t just have decent boxing matches anymore, can you? It’s all got to be fixed. While boxing is being filmed for TV, a quick knockout can cause problems with the schedule. A gap in the timing is filled with Swing Bouts.

The swing bouts boxers, may or may not fight, but they can sometimes put their lives on the line at a moments notice. Set in the backstage of a major boxing match, a young female boxers is plunged into a night of deceit, betrayal and life-altering decisions.

The director, O’Carroll, said about the movie:

“Swing Bout is a film that thrives on tension, character, and a relentless pace. We made it for cinema lovers who enjoy smart, high-stakes storytelling, and it’s been brilliant to see how audiences in Ireland responded. Now, I’m looking forward to sharing that experience with UK and international viewers.”

The trailer does look good, and I have asked for a screener for review. I can’t say I’m a huge boxing fan, but seeing the things that go on behind the scenes looks interesting.

Swing Bouts will be on digital release on the 12th of May and can be pre-ordered.
