Glen Powell and filmmaker Judd Apatow are set to team up for a currently untitled new film exploring the world of country music, with Powell playing a star who is in free fall. Apatow will direct and both will write the project which is being fast-tracked by Universal Pictures.
The Last Mrs. Parrish
Jennifer Lopez has joined the Robert Zemeckis-directed Netflix film adaptation of Liv Constantine’s 2018 novel “The Last Mrs. Parrish” in the lead role. She plays a con artist who targets a wealthy couple – befriending the wife and seducing the husband. She soon discovers the wife’s life is was more complicated than expected.
Madden
John Mulaney will play EA Sports founder Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn will play Virginia Madden and Sienna Miller will play Carol Davis in David O. Russell’s film about legendary coach and broadcaster John Madden at Amazon MGM Studios. Nic Cage is playing Madden alongside Christian Bale as Raiders owner Al Davis. Filming begins next month in Atlanta.
How to Rob a Bank
Former SNL alum Pete Davidson is in negotiations to co-star with Nicholas Hoult in Amazon MGM Studios’ David Leitch-directed film “How to Rob a Bank” at Imagine Entertainment and 87North Productions. The project is said to be in action comedy in the vein of Leitch’s other films like “Bullet Train” and “The Fall Guy”.
The Whisper Man
Michael Keaton, John Carroll Lynch, Hamish Linklater, Owen Teague and Acston Luca Porto will join Robert DeNiro, Adam Scott and Michelle Monaghan in Netflix and AGBO’s adaptation of the Alex North novel “The Whisper Man”. James Ashcroft is set to direct the film about a widowed crime writer who, after his 8-year-old son is abducted, looks to his estranged and retired former police detective father for help.
The Life Lift
“Emilia Pérez” star Karla Sofía Gascon is set to join Vincent Gallo in the Italian psychological thriller “The Life Lift” from filmmaker Stefania Rossella Grassi. Shooting will take place towards year’s end.
Gallo tenant in a small NYC apartment who becomes the target of post-its left in the building’s elevator to commit murders for other people who live in the building. Gascón will play his psychiatrist and “embodies both God and the devil.”
Count My Lies
Lindsay Lohan will star in “Count My Lies,” her first scripted drama series which is currently in development at Hulu. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (“This is Us”) showrun the series about a compulsive liar who bluffs her way into a job as a nanny for a gorgeous and charismatic couple. She soon learns it’s a household brimming with secrets which are about to explode.
Is This Thing On?
Amy Sedaris, Chloe Radcliffe, Scott Icenogle, Jordan Jensen, NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, Reggie Conquest, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds and Matt Richards are joining Will Arnett, Laura Dern, Cooper himself, Andra Day and Sean Hayes in the Bradley Cooper-directed “Is This Thing On?” at Searchlight. The story deals with the fallout of a couple divorcing amicably.
