So, here it is. Following on from the teaser trailer last year, a second, full trailer for Danny Boyle’s 28 Years Later has been released by Sony Pictures.
The first trailer was kinda a big deal, becoming the second most watched horror trailer of all time behind only IT: Chapter 2. So there is clearly a lot of anticipation out there for the continuation of this franchise.
The sequel starts off on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a tidal island off the UK coast in Northumberland, near the Scottish Border. The mainland can only be accessed at low-tide and it is famous in real-life for catching out unwary tourists with it’s tide.
It appears the rage virus outbreak was largely confined to the UK, with the rest of the world quarantining the UK.
Writer Alex Garland returned to work with Danny Boyle, reuniting the team behind the original.
28 Years Later stars Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell. It is the first in a trilogy of movies to complete the franchise.
28 Years Later opens June 20th this year.
