The legacy continues and a new story begins as Sony Pictures releases the second official trailer for their upcoming film Karate Kid: Legends. View trailer below.

In Karate Kid: Legends, after a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn’t want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren’t enough. Li’s kung fu teacher Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.

I was wondering when a new trailer for this movie would be coming out. I definitely like this new preview, which showcases plenty of new footage as well as the characters / story plot for the project. It definitely invokes that nostalgia of the karate action stunts and fights as well as speaking to a modern audience. As mentioned in the previous trailer, I do like the idea of seeing the two sensei teachers of the franchise coming together to teach a new student. It’s great to see and (after the conclusion of the Cobra Kai TV series) I love to see how this handle for a new cinematic drama presentation. Overall, I am quite excited to see what Karate Kid: Legends has to offer the Karate Kid franchise and how moviegoers (and critics) will receive this new project.
