Paul Thomas Anderson has a great catalog of movies. Now his newest, One Battle After Another, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio has a trailer.

It looks like DiCaprio is on a mission to find his daughter while being a revolutionary in the US. The Warner Brothers-produced movie is a black comedy and is due out later this year.

One Battle After Another stars DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, Wood Harris, Alana Haim, and D. W. Moffett. Anderson is the writer and director.

The story is:

When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own’s daughter.

It seems to center on a group of former revolutionaries who reconnect to help a former member, Bob Ferguson (DiCaprio), find his daughter. His daughter, who is mixed-race, has been taken by white nationalists, led by Penn’s character.

The story is an original screenplay by Anderson, but is believed to be based on a novel titled Vineland by Thomas Pynchon. Previously, Anderson adapted Inherent Vice by the same author.

This will be Anderson’s first movie since Licorice Pizza in 2021, which was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Interestingly, co-star Haim was also in Licorice Pizza.

One Battle After Another has a budget of $130 million and is due to be released on the 26th of September.
