Marvel Studios revealed the cast for Avengers: Doomsday yesterday in a series of videos panning along the back of various cast member chairs. The list is… long! It is also very familiar.
Production officially gets underway in the UK today, and it might be time to find out who the official airline partner of Marvel Studios is, and buy some shares. First Class from LA to London is going to be full for months.
The total video length was over five hours, with a new group of names being revealed every few minutes. When it was over, what seemed like the full cast list for Avengers: Doomsday was revealed, topped off with Robert Downey Jr. appearing in person.
What is notable is both who is missing, and some returnign old faces including those from the original X-Men movies, pre-MCU. Multiverse shenanigans will no doubt be declared. Avengers: Doomsday has been rumored to draw the line under the multiverse saga and pave the way for for the next phase of the MCU, which will be based around Secret Wars.

What is really noticeable is who is missing. There are absolutely none of the Eternals. The Guardians of the Galaxy are absent. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and Don Cheadle’s War Machine are also not on the list.
Paul Bettany’s Vision, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine are also absent.
At this stage it also looks as if Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers really does remain retired, and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow remains dead, alongside Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.
However… there is apparently more casting information to come. So wait and see…
The Anthony and Joe Russo-directed movie arrives in theaters on May 1st 2026.
