Ne Zha 2
China’s biggest film of all time, the animated fantasy adventure sequel “Ne Zha 2,” has reportedly surpassed the worldwide box-office haul of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to join the top five highest-grossing films of all time before inflation.
The film has pulled in $2.085 billion to date, all but $31 million of which has come from China where more than 300 million tickets have been sold. The film has yet to release in markets like Indonesia, Japan, and several European markets but isn’t expected to top the $2.264 billion earned by “Titanic” which holds fourth place on the all-time list. Spider-Man 4
“Stranger Things” actress Sadie Sink has responded to recent reports that she’s up for a key role in “Spider-Man 4,” telling the Happy Sad Confused podcast when asked about her being cast as Jean Grey, she responds: “This is news to me.”
Asked if she has spoken with Marvel‘s Kevin Feige about the role, she responded: “No, I have nothing to say about this. The rumors are really cool, though. It’s an awesome rumor… It’s a great character, so it’s cool to read.” Shooting on the new film is expected to begin in the UK later this year.
Moana 2
Disney’s “Moana 2” has reportedly drawn 27.3 million views within the first five days of release on the Disney+ streaming service. That makes it the third most successful Disney Animation theatrical film to hit the platform and the largest Disney Animation premiere since “Encanto”. The first “Moana” debuted on the service in 2019 and has amassed 1.4 billion hours streamed – the most streamed film on Disney+ since the platform’s debut. [Source: Variety]
