Emily Browning (“American Gods,” “Class of ’07”), Lukas Gage (“You,” “The White Lotus”), and Drake Rodger (“The Winchesters,” “Landman”) have all scored leading roles in the upcoming reboot of the “Prison Break” franchise at Hulu.

First revealed as being in early development back in 2023, the new installment is set within the world of the old show, but not expected to involve the characters who were at its center – namely brothers Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell).

That original series followed Lincoln Burrows, who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and his brother Michael Scofield, who hatches a plan to help Lincoln escape from prison. The show was a ratings juggernaut and scored much initial acclaim for that first season.

In the new version, Browning stars as Cassidy Collins,an ex-soldier turned corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.

Rodger is Tommy, an inmate who has been incarcerated at the prison for ten years. Gage will play Jackson, a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.

“Mayans M.C.” co-creator, executive producer and showrunner Elgin James will write and executive produce the new series through his Sierra Drive production label and for 20th Television.

Original series creator Paul Scheuring and executive producers Dawn Olmstead, Marty Adelstein and Neal Moritz are also all returning.
