By The internet is a funny place, you have every piece of knowledge at your fingertips. You could learn the secrets of the universe like: Do dragon fart fire? or What is Kathleen Kennedy thinking? But how do people spend their time? Looking at cat videos and arguing about how Superman looks in his new suit.
James Gunn’s Superman is now in full advertising mode. There have been teasers, promos and in some cereal breakfasts, you get a free cape and the ability to fly. So far, the Super Suit has divided the fans, from high praise to ‘What the hell is that!?!’.
Someone who has had a good look at the super suit is Shaq O’Neil, whom I believe is a basketball player. In a promo NBS on TNT, Shaq had a good look at the suit, and so did the fans. Shaq wasn’t that impressed, he thought he was there to audition for the role as the Man of Steel:
“Biceps, too small. The boots will never fit. And the belt…not that thin anymore. I thought I sent them my sizes.”
It turns out Shaq, although having a Superman tattoo on his bicep, will not be playing Supes after all. He is 7′ 1″, so he’s a little on the tall side. Gunn introduces David Corenswet, in the cape and undies. After meeting Supes, in the suit, we get a full look at it in more detail.
Corenswet’s co-star, Rachel Brosnahan, who’s playing Lois Lane, loves the suit:
“I was leaving [from a test] and I knocked on the door, and he was standing there in a Superman suit, testing. I was just like, ‘Superman is in the building.’ It was wild. It was one of those electric moments that feel really rare. In that moment, I knew it would be David.”
Well of course she loves it, she wants to keep her job. We all know about the dangers of saying something silly on the internet, ask Gina Carano.
This is the most detailed look at the suit so far and it’s going to set the internet ablaze with ‘We love it’ and ‘We hate it’ comments. What do you think?
