Apple Original Films has premiered their Big Game Sport for the Brad Pitt-led F1 movie “F1”.
Oscar winner Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former driver who raced in the 1990s and was forced to retire after a horrible crash. A Formula One team owner and friend, Ruben (Javier Bardem), contacts Hayes and asks him to come out of retirement to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua “Noah” Pearce (Damson Idris) for the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).
Oscar nominee Kerry Condon, Emmy winner Tobias Menzies, Emmy nominee Sarah Niles, Shea Wigham, Callie Cooke, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo co-star in the film which reportedly has a budget of around $300 million.
Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) directs and produces the feature alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Filming has taken place at actual Grand Prix weekends, in full collaboration with Formula 1 and the F1 community. Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment and Dawn Apollo Films are producing the project for Apple Original Films.
Warner Bros. Pictures will handle the theatrical and IMAX run which hits cinemas in North America on June 27th 2025 and internationally starts its rollout that week.
