Damien Leone, the director of the ultra-gory “Terrifier” franchise, says he’s currently preparing a script for the fourth entry in the series.

Little is known about the next entry in the series beyond it being a final one. In a posting on Instagram, Leone shared the cover page for the script and thanked fans for their support of the franchise over the years.

He also confirmed that the next feature will not only offer a conclusion to the franchise, but will show an origin story for Art the Clown:

“The script for Terrifier 4 is under way and it is shaping up to be the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga. I’ve personally never been so excited to see one of my own scripts translate to the screen like this one. P.S. I will finally reveal Art’s origin in this entry. Thank you all again.”

The first film was released in 2016, but it was 2022’s “Terrifier 2” that really broke through, and 2024’s “Terrifier 3” was an even bigger success with $89 million at the box office – the highest-grossing unrated film ever.

A fourth film will likely go into production later this year.
