A TV series adaptation of the video game “Beyond: Two Souls” is in the works with one of the game’s original stars, Elliot Page (“The Umbrella Academy”), set to produce.

Page’s Pageboy Productions has acquired the screen rights to the property from video game developer Quantic Dream S.A.S. to develop the work as a TV series.

Page starred in the game as Jodie Holmes, a young woman with supernatural abilities who becomes ensared in a tangled web of government conspiracies and otherworldly forces.

Connected to a mysterious entity named Aiden, she must navigate both military exploitation and otherworldly threats while discovering the true nature of her powers. Willem Dafoe co-starred.

The series will retain the game’s non-linear narrative and follows Jodie as she goes from experiment to fugitive. Page says in a statement:

“Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career. The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.”

The game was released in between two bigger hits from Quantic Dream, the serial killer thriller “Heavy Rain” and the sci-fi “Detroit: Become Human”. All three are more cinematic works than true games, though do have gameplay sections.
