In line with one of the Outposters comments, we thought we would start a new thing on a Friday, looking ahead to the weekend with perhaps some recommendations of what to watch. I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time, going through lists of new movies and just finding very little I want to watch. I usually end up sticking to a classic.

With the weekend here, maybe you don’t want something new. Maybe you want to see something again that you haven’t seen in a while. All of us here at the Last Movie Outpost have started keeping a record of what we’ve been watching, so we can give you some ideas. In no particular order, but here are some things we’ve enjoyed, or not enjoyed, which you can watch or avoid this weekend:

Ozark – TV series – Recommended
Predator – Movie, the original – Highly recommended
The Running Man – Movie, the original – Again, still very good
Dumb & Dumber – Movie – Still funny
Memoirs Of An Invisible Man – Movie – Worth a rewatch
Transporter 2 – Movie – Dumb but great fun
The Borrowers – Movie – Silly family fun
Office Space – Movie – Still great
Total Recall – Movie, the original – Highly recommended
Only Fools and Horses – TV series – One of the best UK comedies ever
Life’s Too Short – TV series – Not recommended, it’s just mean
Jurassic Park – Movie, the original – Just brilliant
Landman – TV series – Highly recommended

There you go, I’m sure there’s something on there that starts you thinking “I haven’t seen that in ages!” and now you want to see it again.

I put on Only Fools the other day, season six I think it was. It’s where Rodney goes to night school, the one with the blow-up sex dolls, and the one where they win the holiday and Rodney has to be 14 years old. I’m not sure our American Outposters will “get” Only Fools, but if you’re in the UK, it’s classic stuff.

Landman is a new Taylor Sheridan series starring Billy Bob Thornton, and by all accounts it is very good.

What are you watching this weekend?
