The upcoming Season 4 of HBO’s comedy series “The Righteous Gemstones” is also set to be the program’s final run.

Variety confirms that the new run will be the show’s last. While an exact premiere date has yet to be announced, a March 2025 debut is looking likely.

The Danny McBride-created big religion satire series originally premiered in August 2019 and follows a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. It was renewed for its fourth season back in July 2023.

The seriees stars McBride stars as Jesse Gemstone, Adam Devine as Kelvin Gemstone, John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone, Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Tim Baltz as BJ, Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Greg Alan Williams as Martin Imari, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Walton Goggins as Baby Billy Freeman, and Jennifer Nettles as Aimee-Leigh Gemstone.

McBride has issued a statement about the show ending, saying in an official statement:

“The Lord spoke to me and said it’s time to wrap this sucker up. The story this season made the themes, ideas, and characters in ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ feel whole and complete.

I have loved every second of working with this team for the past eight years, and there are some incredible payoffs, twists, and turns in store over the course of this wild final season.”

McBride, Jody Hill, David Gordon Green, John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley, and Brandon James executive produce the series.

The third season pulled in an average of 4.9 million viewers over its first few episodes, more than McBride’s other HBO comedies like “Eastbound and Down” (4.2 million) and “Vice Principals” (4.8 million).

“The Righteous Gemstones” Season 4 will hit HBO this Spring.
