Marvel Rivals
Guangyun Chen, the director of the recent “Marvel Rivals” game, has confirmed that the title aims to so a new season every three months with “fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes”. For each half of the season, they will introduce a new hero – meaning a new character will join the live-service game every 1.5 months. [Source: Metro]
Queer
A24 has released Luca Guadagnino’s big screen adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novella “Queer” on digital platforms as of Tuesday, January 14th. It can be brought or rented from Prime Video, iTunes and other digital retailers. The film opened in cinemas back at Thanksgiving, the digital release coming 49 days later. [Source: A24]

The nominations for the 23rd Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards have been revealed. In the main film category the nominees are “Better Man,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “Mufasa: The Lion King” and “Twisters”. Sing Sing
The Colman Domingo-led A24 feature “Sing Sing” is returning to more than 500 theaters in Friday, and will also become the first movie to be simultaneously made available to nearly a million incarcerated people across the U.S.
The movie follows a group of men enrolled in a prison theater program, will screen inside correctional facilities in California, New York, Texas and 43 other states. “Sing Sing” was originally released last summer and made $2.9 million at the box office. [Source: THR]
Love Hurts
Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for its action-comedy “Love Hurts” starring Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan as mild-mannered realtor with a dark secret that he is desperate to leave behind. He’s soon thrust back into a world of ruthless hitmen, filled with double-crosses and open houses turned into deadly warzones. Daniel Wu co-stars in the film opening February 7th.
