A first look clip has arrived for filmmaker David F. Sandberg’s horror feature adaptation of the acclaimed 2015 PlayStation game “Until Dawn”.
This is not the 2 mins 24 secs trailer rated and is still to arrive, rather its a just over one-minute long featurette with the first clips from the film and some sound bites from Sandberg and others.
The story begins one year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers.
Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.
Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.
The original game interactive drama was set around a snowy cabin and had hundreds of potential storyline permutations. This explores the alternate storyline idea by sticking the characters in a time loop.
Sandberg directs from a script by Gary Dauberman (“Salem’s Lot,” “IT”). Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Maia Mitchell, Belmont Cameli, Ji-young Yoo and Odessa A’zion lead the cast while Peter Stormare reprises his role from the game.
“Until Dawn” will open in cinemas April 25th.
