The fires engulfing parts of Los Angeles, which have caused such devastation in their wake, have also led to multiple delays of events scheduled for the past week.

Those delays are continuing today with word about two more. First up, actor Vincent D’Onofrio says the trailer release for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated “Daredevil: Born Again” series has been “postponed because of LA fires”.

He further noted on the X social media platform that the trailer is “coming”. The new “Daredevil” series is due out March 5th and so far Disney+ has yet to release an official trailer for the series despite being less than 50 days from release.

Rumors swirled that the trailer was supposed to arrive this evening (January 13th) but that will no longer be the case if it was true.

Meanwhile the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards have been delayed again according to Deadline. The Oscar noms were originally supposed to be announced this coming Friday, January 17th.

The fires then pushed that back to Sunday, January 19th. Today comes word that the nominations will now be announced on Thursday, January 23rd.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has also once again extended the voting period for the 97th Academy Awards, the voting will now conclude on Friday, January 17th.

The Oscar nominees luncheon for February 10th has been canceled altogether. The Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony, which was originally scheduled for February 18th, has also postponed with no new date as yet.

The Oscars ceremony isn’t moving at this time and remains set for March 2nd 2025.
