US network television is hilarious. Nobody is quite sure who still watches it, but it is basically a reality show, followed by a crime procedural, followed by a reality show, and repeat. All of this is only punctuated by ridiculous amounts of ads for pharmaceuticals. The latest crime procedural is The Hunting Party.
The new show from NBC and Universal Television stars Manifest and Quantum Leap actress Melissa Roxburgh.
This is a “high-concept” series that features The Pit, an underground and highly classified maximum security prison that houses the most violent and dangerous criminals the world has ever known. When an explosion rocks the facility and allows the inmates to escape en masse, Roxburgh’s ex-FBI agent Rebecca Henderson is called in to lead an elite task force of investigators.
Their mission is to re-capture the lethal escaped convicts. An arc will also run through the series as they attempt to discover who was behind the massive breach… and why.
The Hunting Party co-stars Nick Wechsler (Revenge), Patrick Sabongui (The Flash), Josh McKenzie (La Brea), Sara Garcia (Ride), and Kyra Leroux (Riverdale).
JJ Bailey created the show, and is the showrunner alongside Jake Coburn.
The Hunting Party starts on NBC on February 3rd.
