Scooper MyTimeToShineH has published a report this weekend (via CBM) indicating that multiple TV series are in the works based on three well-known IP – “Assassin’s Creed,” “Jurassic World” and “Fast and the Furious”.
Netflix has long planned a live-action TV series based on Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed” franchise with Jeb Stuart (“Vikings: Valhalla”) attached as showrunner at one point several years ago.
The new report suggests an anime series is also in development and both it and the live-action series will tell brand new stories and won’t adapt the games – thus avoiding the franchise’s notably confusing lore along with introducing new characters and settings.
The report also claims Universal is developing shows based on the “Jurassic World” and “Fast and Furious” franchise with plans to release them through its Peacock streaming service.
Both those franchises have been adapted to TV via animation before with multi-season cartoons based on the properties over on Netflix. However this report would suggest the new ones are live-action.
None of these potential new TV shows have been officially announced and, if the report is accurate, it’s not clear how far along they are.
