Legendary fashion designer Tom Ford previously dablled in filmmaking with 2009’s “A Single Man” and 2016’s “Nocturnal Animals”.

Then in late 2023, he told GQ he planned to shortly retire from his career as a designer and fully concentrate on cinema: “I want to spend the next 20 years of my life making films, and the clock is ticking… fashion is a younger man’s game.”

Cut to a year later and World of Reel today reports that Ford has lined up two projects already which could be coming to cinemas in the near future.

One that’s reportedly being shopped around now and is tipped to be his next film is a movie adaptation of Anne Rice’s 18th-century Venice-set novel “Cry to Heaven”.

The story follows two quite different men – a Venetian noble and a castrated Calabrian singer, both trying to succeed in the world of the opera. Casting is reportedly underway for a 2025 shoot.

The second project, which is expected to come after, is an original story by Ford but all further derails are under wraps.
