A number of notable Cartoon Network series have been removed from the Max streaming service as of today.
The first seven seasons of “Teen Titans Go!” are gone, leaving only the current eighth season. In addition the original “Teen Titans” that preceded it has also been pulled.
“The Looney Tunes Show,” “Ed, Edd n Eddy,” “Static Shock,” “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” and “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy” have also reportedly been pulled from the streamer.
The Cartoon Network official site was shut down in August with people redirected to Max to find their shows.
Then in October, series started being pulled including “Chowder,” “Regular Show,” “The Amazing World of Gumball,” “We Bare Bears” and “Steven Universe”.
Now comes this. Though the first seven seasons of “Teen Titans Go!” are still available on Hulu, the removal of the series from Max – one of Cartoon Network’s biggest animated hits – is symbolic.
It has quickly led to speculation about what Warner Bros. Discovery’s strategy is going forward on the animation front. No official word as yet from WBD about their plans for Cartoon Network titles in 2025.
