The second season of “Squid Game” launched on Boxing Day (December 26th) and has quickly become Netflix’s biggest debut ever.

The new run topped the streamer’s non-English TV list with 68 million views, breaking the record for most views for a show in its premiere week. The previous record was held by the first season of “Wednesday” with 50.1 million.

The seven new episodes also ranked No. 1 in no fewer than 92 countries, and has already become Netflix’s seventh-most popular non-English TV show in just five days.

It follows on from the first season which was released in September 2021 and has to amassed 265.2 million views to date – making it Netflix’s most-watched series of all time.

NFL Christmas Gameday Live coverage took the top spots on the English TV list of the past week with a little over 14 million views each.

Netflix has also released the first poster for the third season (which is really Season 2, Part 2) which will air in the Summer or Fall of 2025.
