Australian animated series “Bluey” looks set to be the streaming champion of 2024.

A new feature over at THR has broken down the biggest hits on U.S. TV for the year – covering the lows of basic cable to the highs of streaming’s biggest hits.

The outlet also indicates that the series has amassed more than 50 billion minutes of streaming time on Disney+ as of late November.

It has charted on Nielsen’s streaming top 10 every week since late 2022 and holds a roughly 7 billion-minute lead for this year over “Grey’s Anatomy” – the only other show that has charted every week.

The outlet indicates when final numbers are in, they expect the series to almost match the record-setting year that “Suits” had in 2023 with its sudden resurgence via Netflix.

The future of the series remains in question. Production on the third season wrapped in April 2022 with the series releasing ‘minisodes’ over the past few months.

Creator Joe Brumm revealed in a letter a few weeks ago that he won’t be involved in a potential fourth season as his energy is going into the “Bluey” movie which is due out in cinemas in 2027.

He makes it clear the letter is “not an announcement about the end of the show,” but there’s still obvious questions as to when we might see new episodes.
