By The teaser trailer has been released for the long-awaited crossover episode between Philadelphia-set sitcoms “Abbott Elementary” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.
The episode is titled “Volunteers”. In it, Ava (Janelle James) announces the school district is sending a group of volunteers to help out at Abbott; however when they arrive, things don’t go as planned.
Those volunteers? The lovable scum of Paddy’s Pub. The spot sees Quinta Brunson’s Janine Teagues welcoming the crew to the ‘best elementary school in the universe’.
The storyline will reportedly focus largely on Charlie Day’s character, Charlie but further plot specifics about that are under wraps.
“Abbott Elementary” is currently in the midst of their fourth season while “Sunny” is currently in production of its seventeenth.
The crossover is set to air on January 8th on ABC with a follow-up episode already in the works and will see the Abbott crew appearing in locations of ‘Sunny’ in an episode airing later in 2025.
