Disney+ has premiered the official trailer for their upcoming Marvel Studios animated series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”.
The story follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with “a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.”
Hudson Thomas voices Peter who does classic Peter things – runs late for school, makes some awkward exits which get him into trouble, and fights bad guys in his home-made outfit.
The trailer also shows Peter teaming up with Oscorp head Norman Osborn (voiced by Colman Domingo) who tells him: “With my help, you’ll achieve greatness” and gives Peter a much-improved Spidey suit.
This affirms this is a different Earth to the one of the MCU where Tony Stark was Peter’s mentor and suit upgrader.
The trailer also has the classic theme song from the 1967 cartoon series. Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy and Charlie Cox also lend their voices to the show.
Jeff Trammell is head writer on the series which is already working on a second season with the first season set to debut on January 29th on the Disney+ service.
