By Disney+ has released the teaser trailer for the second season of Ncuti Gatwa’s run in “Doctor Who,” the clip introducing Varada Sethu as the new companion Belinda Chandra.
In the new season, The Doctor meets Belinda and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.
Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday, who served as the first season companion, makes an appearance here and is expected to show up in several episodes.
The clip premiered in the wake of this year’s “Doctor Who” Christmas special which is now online. Nicola Coughlan is the companion in the episode titled “Joy to the World”.
Russell T Davies serves as showrunner and executive producer for the second season. A third season is tipped to film in 2025 but said season has not yet been confirmed by the BBC or Disney, with the former suggesting a renewal won’t be handed out until after this second season airs.
