Heh. Shows what we know! For months we have been gleefully joining in with the online speculation about Christopher Nolan’s next project.

All the smart money seemed to point towards a high-tech action thriller based around a helicopter. Blue Thunder by way of Tenet, perhaps.

Now, Nolan’s next project has been fully revealed and there is a lot of egg on a lot of faces. It turns out it was all bullshit.

Universal Pictures has announced that Christopher Nolan’s next film is an adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.

Revealed on X, Nolan is said to be creating a:

“…mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology.”

The Greek historical tale follows Odysseus and his year journey home after the Trojan War, facing trials and tribulations along the route as he angered the Gods.

For the Cliff’s Notes version, you can’t really go wrong with the excellent French animated sci-fi take Ulysses 31. Because it is Christmas, here are all the episodes for your enjoyment.

This version will star Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyongo and Robert Pattinson.

Shooting starts in the new year for a July 17th 2026 release.

I guess I am going to have to go back to Airwolf re-runs on satellite TV for my super-copter fix.
