Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Robert De Niro’s first television series – Zero Day.
It is described as a political conspiracy thriller centering on a devastating global cyberattack, a “Zero Day” event. De Niro plays respected former U.S. President George Mullen who is called in to help the current President (Angela Bassett) in the aftermath of the attack.
Appointed as head of the Zero Day Commission, he is charged with finding the perpetrators who caused carnage, chaos, and thousands of fatalities across the country. Competing interests and dark forces collide. Big tech, Wall Street, and Washington all have an angle as disinformation is spread. Mullen’s search for the truth forces him to confront secrets that others would wish to keep hidden.
The series co-stars Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, and Matthew Modine, with guest stars Bill Camp, Dan Stevens, Gaby Hoffmann, and Clark Gregg.
The six-episode series was co-created by writers Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and New York Times writer Michael S. Schmidt. De Niro also serves as executive producer alongside Newman, Oppenheim, Jonathan Glickman of Panoramic Media, and Schmidt.
Lesli Linka Glatter directed all episodes for Netflix.
Netflix will release Zero Day on February 20th, 2025.
