Universal Pictures hasn’t yet begun promotional efforts for next Summer’s “Jurassic World: Rebirth” beyond a few stills for 2025 previews, but a new clip online this weekend is sparking plenty of discussion about the movie.
In the wake of new photos being released earlier this week, someone has used A.I. to create an apparent ‘leaked’ trailer – one filmed as though it was camcorded footage from a presentation in cinema.
The rather ridiculous footage seems to show Scarlett Johansson’s character transforming into a velociraptor – initially undergoing skin and eye changes, before cutting to the money shot of a velociraptor in a blonde wig. Johanssonosaurus?
Jonathan Bailey, who plays a major role in the film can also be seen in the clip which scarily show how far AI videos have come in a short amount of time. Dark Horizons doesn’t use A.I. and won’t include embed such a clip here.
As for when a real trailer may hit, the best guess at present is likely with the release of Leigh Whannell’s “The Wolf Man” on January 17th, or via a Superbowl spot on February 9th.
The actual film is set five years following the events of Jurassic World Dominion, when the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Johansson) attempts to secure the genetic material from the dinosaurs but ends up stranded with a civilian family on an island that holds a secret being kept from humanity for decades.
Gareth Edwards directs the film which also stars Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono. “Jurassic World Rebirth” is set to hit cinemas on July 2nd 2025.
