Paramount has moved up the release date of Edgar Wright’s new film adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Running Man”.

Glen Powell, Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman and Josh Brolin lead the film set around a game show that has people chased by murderous Hunters across the world to win money. Arnold Schwarzenegger led the previous film adaptation.

The title was originally slated for a November 21st 2025 release but will now go two weeks earlier on November 7th. The move grants it access to IMAX screens and gets it out of the way of “Wicked: For Good” opening on the 21st.

The move puts it up against Dan Trachtenberg’s “Predator: Badlands” in wide release and Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film “Bugonia”. Nothing is slated to Halloween next year, while the following week has “Now You See Me 3” arriving.

It is one of a number of date changes the studio has announced today. They have also set an October 24th 2025 release for the Dave Franco and McKenna Grace-led film “Regretting You” based on the novel by Colleen Hoover. That film will open against “Mortal Kombat 2”.

The studio has also set a January 15th 2027 date for an untitled tentpole on IMAX screens, and have pulled the Bryan Bertino-directed “Vicious” off its February 28th 2025 release.
