Two recent series which scored good reviews are set to come back.
Amazon Prime Video has renewed its video game-inspired adult animated anthology series “Secret Level” for a second season. Tim Miller created the series and executive produces with Dave Wilson.
Amazon says the first season achieved the most-watched animated series debut of all time for the streamer within its first week, but viewership numbers were not provided.
The show debuted with eight episodes on December 10th with the remaining episodes releasing today. Episodes are inspired by a number of video games including “Pac-Man,” “Dungeons & Dragons,” “Spelunky,” “Mega Man” and more.
Next, Apple TV+ has announced that they have renewed the Bill Lawrence-created sun-soaked dark comedy/mystery series “Bad Monkey” for a second season.
Vince Vaughn is set to return as Andrew Yancy, a man bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys.
In the first season he stumbles on a case that begins when a human arm is fished up by tourists. Lawrence previously indicated he pitched the series with a three-season arc in mind.
The show’s ensemble cast includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet and Jodie Turner-Smith. First season guest stars included John Ortiz, Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn and Charlotte Lawrence.
