After recently expressing interest in reprising his role of The Grinch, actor Jim Carrey was asked by ComicBook.com about sequels to other past projects of his – most notably 1994’s “The Mask”.

The original film became a blockbuster with $351 million at the worldwide box office and, combined with “Ace Ventura” and “Dumb and Dumber” all in the same year, really kickstarted Carrey’s film career.

Would Carrey ever return as the green-faced trickster? He seems open to the idea:

“Oh gosh, you know, it has to be the right idea. If somebody had the right idea, I guess. It’s not really about the money. I joke about the money. … But I never know. You can’t be definite about these things.”

Carrey made the comments while out promoting “Sonic the Hedgehog 3,” press chatter which has seen him made it fairly clear that he’s not about retire anytime soon but is also being fairly selective with what projects he intends to do from now on.

“Sonic the Hedgehog 3” opens in cinemas December 20th.
