DC Studios has set a September 11th 2026 release date for the Mike Flanagan-penned “Clayface” film, the title taking the post Labor Day weekend which worked very well for the likes of “IT” and “The Nun”.
The project doesn’t have a director or star yet, but that a date has been set indicates the project is very much moving forward and will go into production sometime next year. Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris will produce.
The news follows on from the Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s original project “Dynamic Duo” landing a June 30th 2028 release with the title also coming to IMAX.
That project is an origin story of the Robins aka Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, and marks the first joint project between DC Studios and Warner Animation. That film has Arthur Mintz set to direct from a script written by Matthew Aldrich.
The DC slate now reads as follows:
July 11th 2025: “Superman”
May 29th 2026: Untitled Project
June 26th 2026: “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”
September 11th 2026: “Clayface”
October 2nd 2026: “The Batman Part II”
March 5th 2027: Untitled Project
June 30th 2028: “Dynamic Duo”
The slate news comes as Puck News indicated today that the trailer to James Gunn’s “Superman” will arrive online early next week.
