Sony released the trailer for Danny Boyle’s long awaited “28 Years Later” film earlier this week to rave reviews, many calling it the best trailer they’ve seen for a film in ages.
That said, one complaint that did seem to arise is that the trailer includes a brief shot of an emaciated zombie rising up out of a field that people have mistaken for Cillian Murphy’s cameo in the film and thus got upset over an apparent “spoiler”.
The film is the first of a new trilogy of movies with Murphy previously rumored to have a short appearance in the first ahead of a larger role in the second. Murphy is producing the trilogy as well.
Now, multiple sources from both social media to outlets like The Guardian have cleared up the report saying the actor playing that zombie isn’t Murphy but art dealer and model Angus Neill who is 6’2 with a 28-inch waist – his profile is up at Ugly.org.
Neill spoke about his experience shooting the film and tells the paper:
“Danny told me he’d always had me in mind for the role. So we met up, hit it off, and I agreed to take part. On set he has an extraordinary ability to hypnotise you, and working with him on the film was a very, very intense experience.”
Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell star in “28 Years Later” which is slated for release in June next year. Nia DaCosta directed the second installment which has already been shot.
