Jonny Coyne (“The Nun,” “The Hangover Part III”) will reprise his role as an Imperial warlord in the upcoming “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie at Lucasfilm.

Coyne played an Imperial warlord in the third season of “The Mandalorian,” one of several Imperial officials who met with Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) to discuss plans regarding Mandalore.

The group is called the Shadow Council, which secretly operates against the New Republic and likely laid the path for the rise of the First Order. The extent of Coyne’s role in the film is unknown.

Pedro Pascal is returning to play Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver has been cast in an undisclosed role, and yesterday came the news that Jeremy Allen White is voicing Jabba the Hutt’s son Rotta the Hutt.

Bespin Bulletin is reporting that according to their sources, Rotta in the film “looks sort of…buff”. They would be the first muscly Hutt seen on screen.

The new film is expected to feature a Hoth-like landscape. Favreau and Dave Filoni penned the film which was supposed to be wrapped earlier this month, though a posting on Mando Updates indicates Pedro Pascal is filming scenes (presumably helmet off ones) this week for the project now that his “Fantastic Four” filming is done.

“The Mandalorian & Grogu” and will hit cinemas May 22nd 2026.
