By The Golden Globes nominations were unveiled live at a press conference at the Beverly Hilton on Monday morning with “Emilia Perez” leading the charge.
The Mexico-set crime musical scored 10 nominations, breaking the “Barbie” record of 9 noms for a comedy or musical motion picture. Also faring well were “The Brutalist” with seven, “Conclave” with six, and “Anora” and “The Substance” with five each.
Quite notable is that many of the winners on the critics circuit so far like “Nickel Boys,” “Sing Sing,” “The Piano Lesson,” “A Different Man,” etc. scored only one nom each.
The Golden Globes also brought back the cinematic and box office achievement in film award with eight nominees chosen from films that achieved a gross box office total of at least $150 million, of which $100 million must come from the U.S. domestic box office.
On the TV front it was “The Bear” in front with five followed by “Shogun” and “Only Murders in the Building” with four each. Here’s the full list of nominations:
