Production on the second season of the “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” will move, going from California to the United Kingdom according to IndieWire.

The show, the only Lucasfilm project in active pre-production at present, aims to begin shooting the new season in April.

The studio shot the first season of “Ahsoka,” along with “The Mandalorian,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and the just launched “Skeleton Crew” at its Manhattan Beach Studios in Los Angeles.

Also shot there was “The Mandalorian & Grogu” film which landed over $21 million in conditional tax credits. All those series also extensively used the ‘Volume’ tech involving stages with wrap around video screens.

On the flipside the acclaimed “Andor” and the panned “The Acolyte” were both mostly shot in the UK and had very minimal use of the tech.

With the second season of “Ahsoka, the show will reportedly utilize multiple different film techniques – going beyond the almost entirely Volume-shot first season.

The news comes a production levels in Los Angeles this past summer were the second-lowest they’ve ever been – even worse than during the 2023 strikes.
