Paramount+ with Showtime has premiered a ‘first look’ trailer for the upcoming third season of its mystery drama ensemble “Yellowjackets” which returns February 14th.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the series follows a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness.
It chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later.
What began out in the wilderness is far from over. At the end of the second season, the remaining members try to perform a new ritual which ended in tragic results and various fates handing in the balance.
The new season sees Oscar winner Hilary Swank and “Community” star Joel McHale joining the cast which includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, and Lauren Ambrose as the leads, Elijah Wood recurring, and the likes of Tawny Cypress, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Nélisse, Liv Hewson, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, and Simone Kessell on supporting roles.
Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and fellow showrunner Jonathan Lisco serve as executive producers.
