Untitled Steven Spielberg Film
“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” and “Thunderbolts*” star Wyatt Russell is in talks to join Steven Spielberg’s event movie directorial effort at Amblin and Universal Pictures. The David Koepp-penned film opens May 15th 2026.
Russell joins the rapidly expanding cast which includes Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson. A deal for the actor is said to be very close, but the storyline is under wraps. [Source: Deadline]
Driver’s Ed
“Dumb and Dumber” co-director Bobby Farrelly has signed on to direct the teen ensemble road trip comedy “Driver’s Ed” which hails from “Outer Banks” co-creator Jonas Pate. He and Jennifer Pate developed Thomas Moffett’s original screenplay.
The film centers on teens who steal their school’s driver’s ed car to go on a road trip to help a high school senior track down his college-freshman girlfriend and win her back. Farrelly remains attached to direct “Sporkinfeesten” at Amazon MGM Studios. [Source: Yahoo]

Focus Features has announced a December 13th streaming release on Peacock for its acclaimed mystery thriller drama “Conclave” starring Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes. Meanwhile, “Joker: Folie a Deux” which wrapped it run with just over $200 million at the box-office worldwide, has set a Max release date of the same day – this coming Friday December 13th. Mufasa: The Lion King
A new video is out for Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King” with the clip previewing the song “I Always Wanted a Brother” from Lin-Manuel Miranda that appears in the prequel film.
In the film Mufasa (Aaron Pierre) and Taka (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) sing about how the pair have always wanted a partner. Barry Jenkins direccts from a screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson with the movie opening later this month.
