Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max streaming service has announced today that they intend to expand the Turner Classic Movies hub on the service to more closely align with what’s on the channel.
As a result, hundreds of previously unavailable movies will roll out on the platform beginning this month, including “themed selections of carefully curated classic films”. The expansion will reportedly not impact the Watch TCM app.
It all kicks off with a celebration of Mickey Rooney that includes films like “National Velvet” and “Words and Music”, and Humphrey Bogart with movies like “Key Largo,” “Invisible Stripes” and “It All Came True” joining the streamer.
Royce Battleman, executive VP of content acquisitions at Warner Bros. Discovery, says:
“At Max, we pride ourselves on our strong dedication to a robust library of fan favorite and classic films. Our latest expansion of TCM titles brings in even more timeless stories and invites viewers to relish in iconic cinematic moments on the platform.”
January will see focuses on Cary Grant (“My Favorite Wife,” “Destination Tokyo”) and George Raft (“Each Dawn I Die,” “Red Light”), while February will have a 31 Days of Oscars collection with multiple Oscar-winning films highlighted.
