Video games are going through the same thing as movies, they are being destroyed for the “modern audience”. The newest one to take a beating is the newest version of Indiana Jones. The man with the hat is back, this time in The Great Circle.
There is a new trailer for the game online.
I have to say, it doesn’t look that exciting, but it gets worse. As we know, most modern movies and games are aimed at people who are “modern” moviegoers or gamers. Recently Dragon Age: The Veilguard suffered from this:
If you can’t see it, one of the protagonists opens a conversation with:
“Non-binary. I just said. And I’m going to use “they” instead of “she” from now on.”
Yes, in this fantasy game, with dwarves, elves, and other magical creatures, there are also non-binary horned people, because that’s what all video games need. It’s been said before, but we play games to escape reality, not have it shoved down our throats.
Back to Indiana Jones, here is one of the lead developers of the game.
This was taken from a preview of the game earlier this year. In it, this person said:
“We have the opportunity to tell a new Indiana Jones story for a modern gaming audience…”
Yes, one thing we all need to see is Indiana Jones put in his place. The guy is a chad who likes women, he’s disgusting! A white male incel and I’m literally shaking here!
Is The Great Circle that bad?
While looking this up, I saw there are a lot of YouTube channels with early access to the game. A lot of them seem to like it, but then, they had early access, why wouldn’t they?
There’s no mention of any DEI in it, so maybe they pulled it. They saw what happened to Dragon Age, so they knew they had to do something. It turns out, that the “modern audience” aren’t big gamers. They aren’t big anything, apart from in body weight.
Personally, I won’t be playing Indiana Jones and The Great Circle until I can get it secondhand. I’m not spending £70 of my hard-earned money on a new game. I had a PS5 with a disc slot, that way, I could play the game and then return it if it sucks… like I did with Star Wars Outlaws.
