We had this whole, will Johnny Depp be back as Jack Sparrow over and over again. It seems the studio is determined to keep flogging that dead horse, but they couldn’t do it without Depp. Jack Sparrow IS Pirates of the Caribbean.
According to Variety, one source, who is close to the next Pirates movie has said:
“Nothing has been ruled out…”
About Depp’s return. Jerry Bruckheimer is hoping the differences between Disney and Depp can be repaired and he will step back into the role. We all saw how both Depp and Amber Heard were treated after the well-publicised court case.
Heard was still cast in Aquaman 2 and Depp was dropped like a turd in a toilet, or bed. Personally, I think Depp should stick to his guns and tell Disney to stuff it and come back as Sparrow. If that happens, there is another script in the works, which will be a complete reboot.
If the reboot is made, and eventually flops, Depp can sit back and laugh. As I said, the Pirates of the Caribbean is nothing without Depp.
We have all seen the rumours about the reboot having a female cast, with Margot Robbie in the role. This has had more rumours than I’ve had hot dinners. If they go down this route, at this point in time, it’s going to flop.
