Paddington in Peru
The U.S. theatrical release for the much anticipated “Paddington in Peru” has been delayed – moving from January 17th 2025 to February 14th 2025. No reason for the delay has been given.
The film was already released in early November in the UK, scoring the biggest opening weekend for a British film since “No Time to Die”. As such, it will likely hit streaming in the UK close to its U.S. theatrical run which raises obvious concerns over potential piracy. [Source: Deadline]
Canyon
Oscar nominee Don Cheadle will star, Colin Tilley will direct and “John Wick” franchise architect Derek Kolstad will pen the screenplay for “Canyon” at Alcon Entertainment. Cheadle, Kolstad, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Jon Davis and Jeremy Stein will produce.
Set over the span of a swelteringly hot night, the story follows a part-time jazz musician and full-time killer who finds himself the unlikely protector of a young siren pulled into a turf war between feuding crime families. [Source: Deadline]

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg
Janus Films has released a trailer for the 60th anniversary 4K restoration of the one of the greatest musicals ever made – the five-time Oscar nominated “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”. The restoration hits New York on December 6th and L.A. a week later.
The film tells the story of the daughter (Catherine Deneuve) of an umbrella shop owner who falls in love with a mechanic (Nino Castelnuovo), a love affair cut short when the mechanic is shipped off to fight in Algeria.
A Complete Unknown
Searchlight Pictures has released a new featurette for the forthcoming biographical drama “A Complete Unknown” starring Timothée Chalamet as iconic folk-rock singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. The film arrives in cinemas on December 25th.
Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, the film follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts. The production sung the songs live during production with Chalamet performing 40 of Dylan’s songs.
