If you thought “Wicked” was a cinemagoing juggernaut, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Disney’s “Moana 2” arrived with previews on Tuesday night ahead of today’s opening and amassed a record-shattering $13.8 million last night.

That’s the biggest preview number ever for a Walt Disney Animation title and the second-biggest for any animated film behind only Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” ($18.5 million).

“Moana 2” also scored the top Tuesday, pre-Thanksgiving preview gross of all time. It is widely expected to be the biggest five-day earner of all time, and the biggest Thanksgiving opening of all time with a five-day debut of $125-135 million.

The new film follows Moana as she embarks on an unexpected adventure in long-lost waters after receiving a call from her ancestors. Reviews for the title have been decidedly more mixed than for its acclaimed predecessor.

“Wicked” meanwhile continued its own major run, topping Tuesday’s chart with $16.6 million while “Gladiator II” racked up a solid $6.7 million.
