We saw glimpses of it in the trailer. Now the team behind the Tom Cruise extreme sports addiction therapy that is Mission: Impossible have revealed more of a big stunt from the upcoming instalment.
The water-based stunt appears to be a key sequence from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the supposed last instalment in the franchise.
Ageing spy supremo, the serially disavowed Ethan Hunt will return and the story from the last movie, which ended on something of a cliffhanger, will be concluded as the IMF continue their off-the-books mission against The Entity, a sentient A.I. programme that everyone wants, but seems to have its own agenda.
The clips that have been shared by the official social media channels of the production show Cruise preparing for the stunt.
Cruise himself also shared a photo on X, saying:
“The training and preparation we put into this film is a culmination of all before it. From the depths, to the skies, I can’t wait to share more with you.”
Christopher McQuarrie once again writes and directs the film which will be released in United States cinemas on May 23rd 2025.

The teaser trailer was released a couple of weeks ago, so the publicity drumbeat is well and truly underway. Can the finale come close to the franchise high that was Mission: Impossible – Fallout?
