It’s only a few months away, but Marvel Studios isn’t done with tinkering on “Captain America: Brave New World” just yet.
Scooper DanielRPK (via CBM) indicates that a third round of test screenings for the film recently took place, and once again the reaction wasn’t what the studio hoped. He suggests that more changes will now be required.
Marvel is seemingly already on top of it with star Anthony Mackie photographed shooting new scenes for the movie in Los Angeles two weeks ago (via Marvel Updates). It’s not clear how extensive this new additional photography is.
The project’s main shoot ran from March-June last year, but then an extensive first round of additional filming took place this Summer which is when Giancarlo Esposito came onboard.
Esposito also revealed at the start of the month that additional reshoots were about to take place. Whatever the case, Marvel has less than four months from the film’s release and will probably be working right up to the wire to make its date.
The project marks the fourth film in the “Captain America” series, and the first to see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson taking over the mantle from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. Ford takes over the role of Thunderbolt Ross from the late William Hurt in the film who is now the U.S. President.
“Captain America: Brave New World” is scheduled to be released in cinemas Valentine’s Day 2025.
