DC Studios chief James Gunn has confirmed, with a ‘yes and yes’ on social media (via DC Film News), that he has ideas for Batman villain Deathstroke working in the new DCU and there plans in place to include him.

It’s not clear if he’s referring to the “Bane and Deathstroke” team-up movie reported on in September, a film which has “Captain America: Brave New World” writer Matthew Orton working on the script.

At the time it wasn’t sure whether the film would be a part of the DC Universe or an ‘Elseworlds’ work separate from it – today’s comments seem to confirm the former.

Across the street at Marvel, things seem to be building towards a “Young Avengers” film as has long been speculated.

WDW News Today on X reports that “Worlds of Marvel,” an interactive dining experience that’s available on the Disney Treasure cruise ship, has three recruits from past MCU films teaming up – Cassandra Lang (Kathryn Newton), Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez).

Though far from officially confirming the project, it’s yet one more hint that a “Young Avengers” of some sort is coming. Next year’s “Ironheart” series, which focuses on Riri Williams, is expected to lay some more groundwork for the idea.
