A24 has premiered a second trailer for “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies” filmmaker Halina Reijn’s new erotic thriller “Babygirl” starring Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson.
The story explores the complexities of power dynamics and sexuality within a professional setting as a tightly wound and married high-ranking CEO (Kidman) finds a sense of release through an illicit romance with a captivating and significantly younger intern (Dickinson).
Playfulness turns potentially dangerous with this relationship as they play around to dangerous extents with the inherent power differential of their torrid relationship.
The film premiered to strong reviews in Venice along with a seven-minute standing ovation and Kidman winning the Volpi Cup for Best Actress. Kidman has spoken about it being a “very liberating story” that is “told by a woman through her gaze”.
Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Gaite Jansen, Izabel Mar, Victor Slezak, Anoop Desai, Leslie Silva, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper, Esther McGregor and Vaughan Reilly co-star in “Babygirl” which is set to release in cinemas on Christmas Day.
Kidman will next be seen in the thriller “Welcome to Holland” and leading the “Scarpetta” TV series alongside Jamie Lee Curtis. She’s also co-starring with Michelle Pfeiffer in “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” and has a “Practical Magic” sequel potentially coming.
