Netflix has released first look photos from “Havoc,” the long in the works action thriller starring Tom Hardy and directed by “The Raid” helmer Gareth Evans.

Hardy stars as a bruised detective forced to fight his way through a dangerous criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son. A wide-ranging conspiracy and corruption comes into play.

The shots mark the first promotional material released from the film which was shot in 2021 and then wrapped reshoots in July with post-production still underway.

Speaking about those reshoots with Empire, Evans says they were hugely beneficial as they allowed him to do the film he wanted after not quite getting their with the main shoot:

“It’s had a profound effect on the film. It allowed me to better streamline it, and make it what it was always intended to be, which is a blistering, fast-paced action-thriller with nods to the Hong Kong cinema that I grew up watching.”

Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell, Luis Guzmán, Jessie Mei Li, Yeo Yann Yann, Sunny Pang and Michelle Waterson co-star. “Havoc” will release sometime in 2025.
